The Taburno Territory in the Genevitis Project

Among the inland hills of Campania, the Taburno massif dominates the horizon and influences the microclimate of the vineyards. Here, the Genevitis project enhances a deeply rooted agricultural tradition, where territory, community and wine production remain closely connected.

The Territory

Guardia Sanframondi lies at the foot of the Taburno massif, a constant presence that defines the winegrowing environment of the area.

Temperature variations, altitude and natural ventilation favour balanced ripening and preserve freshness and aromatic precision in the grapes.

This direct relationship between nature and cultivation makes the territory an integral part of the identity of the wines and of the Terre di Guardia project.

Partner

Founded in 1960 on the initiative of 33 winegrowers, La Guardiense is today one of Italy’s most important wine cooperatives. It brings together hundreds of contributing members and produces around 150,000 hectolitres of wine every year, equal to over 6 million bottles.

In 2018, it became the first sustainable winery in Campania by obtaining SQNPI certification, confirming its commitment to responsible agricultural and environmental management of the territory.

Since 2007, it has worked with winemaker Riccardo Cotarella, contributing to a significant improvement in production quality. At the same time, the “Janare” project introduced targeted agronomic experimentation aimed at enhancing local historic grape varieties, especially Falanghina and Aglianico.

In 2013, the wine “I Mille per l’Aglianico” received the Oscar for Best Innovation in Wine, recognising the research and development work carried out by the winery.

Tradition

In Sannio, viticulture is part of the local culture. The project enhances this agricultural heritage, maintaining continuity between the environment, human work and production.

Terre di Guardia interprets the territory through wines that express balance, recognisability and stylistic consistency, while maintaining a strong connection with their area of origin.

Genevitis Project

Within the Genevitis project, Campania’s winemaking identity takes shape in the Terre di Guardia line. The name evokes a land that preserves and passes down wine culture, expressing the bond between territory, agricultural community and tradition.

In Guardia Sanframondi, between the slopes of Sannio and the Taburno massif, wines are born that tell the story of an ancient landscape, where viticulture represents a shared heritage. A project that interprets the territory through historic varieties such as Aglianico and Falanghina, enhancing their character and identity.

A brand that narrates a place of the soul, where nature, human work and memory come together, transforming the land into a story.
