Mitreo is a name rooted in the ancient history of Lazio, evoking the places of worship dedicated to the god Mithras, underground spaces connected to the earth, the cycles of nature and rebirth.
The project was created to tell the story of the deep bond between community, territory and wine production, transforming wine into a means of cultural storytelling as well as an agricultural expression.
Each bottle thus becomes a testimony to balance: between past and present, tradition and contemporaneity, humankind and the environment.

Mitreo represents a wine supply chain built around the idea of belonging. It is not just a wine line, but a project that interprets the territory as a shared cultural heritage.
Inspired by the symbolism of the mithraea, places where fertility, harmony and renewal were celebrated, the project translates these values into wine production: respect for natural cycles, production continuity and the enhancement of local varieties.
Wine thus becomes the guardian of the territory’s memory. Through vine cultivation and the daily work of people, the past is preserved and brought into the present, creating a bridge between agricultural tradition and contemporary sensitivity.
Mitreo tells the story of a territory that evolves without losing its roots, where each harvest represents a new expression of the same story.

In Lazio, among the volcanic hills of the Castelli Romani, viticulture has accompanied the life of local communities for centuries. The mineral-rich volcanic soils and the temperature variations between day and night favour balanced ripening and aromatic definition in the grapes.
In this landscape, made up of historic villages, vineyards and well-established agricultural traditions, wine production is not only an economic activity but an integral part of local culture.
Here operates Gotto d’Oro, a historic cooperative winery in Lazio viticulture founded in 1945, committed to enhancing native varieties such as Malvasia del Lazio, Trebbiano and Cesanese. The collaboration with the Genevitis project makes it possible to maintain production continuity and stylistic recognisability, while preserving territorial identity.

Branding

The image of the line was born from the observation of the fresco in the Mithraeum of Marino. The starry cloak of the god Mithras becomes the central symbolic element of the graphic project.
From this detail, a visual language based on tiles and geometries takes shape, like a mosaic: each colour and each form evokes emotions, seasons and characteristics of the territory.
The star extracted from the cloak becomes the distinctive mark of the line, a symbol of orientation and continuity. The label is not merely decoration, but a narrative tool: it tells the story of the bond between ancient history, contemporary landscape and wine production.
The packaging thus translates the culture of the territory into an immediately recognisable visual experience.
